News & Events

08/07/2022

Joseph Fenech, Shipping & Yachting Executive at Fenech Farrugia Fiott Legal, and Peter Valentino, Business Development Associate at ARQ Group, have attended the first edition of the Malta Superyacht Symposium.

The symposium has brought together all the local major industry stakeholders with the aim to focus on three aspects:

  1. Formulating a future strategy for the superyacht industry for Malta;
  2. Building upon Malta’s position as a leading yachting jurisdiction;
  3. Presenting a formal report to the authorities with practical recommendations resulting from the various panel discussions.

The event has showcased and analysed the Maltese superyacht industry and its achievements over the years. In a round table format, discussions were held with representatives from various industry sectors, ranging in topics from the Malta flag registration, refits, Malta as a superyacht destination, the status of regulations for both pleasure and commercial yachts, crew training and opportunities and brokerage trends.

This symposium was organised by The Malta Chamber and the Malta Maritime Law Association with the support of Transport Malta and Yachting Malta Ltd.
