The Merchant Shipping Directorate has issued a notice informing all those concerned that as from the 08th September, Malta ratified the International Convention for the Control & Management of Ships’ Ballast Water and Sediments, 2004 (Convention). Upon entry in force of the Convention, all Maltese ships engaged on international voyages falling under the scope of the Convention shall comply with the provisions of the Convention and the Merchant Shipping ( Ballast Water Management) Regulations, 2017.
