Following the successful introduction and implementation of the Non-Convention Vessel (NCV) Code, and after following feedback and consultation with all stakeholders and interested parties, the Malta Merchant Shipping Directorate has announced that this NCV Code has been duly revised and improved.
The NCV Code Rev.2, which will come into force on the 01st September 2021, has been designed to better serve the needs of the industry whilst meeting the particular needs, demands and technologies of this market, in conformity with applicable national, EU and international rules, regulations and standards.
Existing vessels, already issued with an NCV Certificate, shall comply with the NCV Code Rev.2 by not later than the first periodical survey that is carried out on or after the 1st September 2021.
